Why a vehicle has to be in pristine condition to have PPF?

PPF prep - why it’s so important?

If you’re interested in protecting your vehicle’s paintwork then look no further. We here at RMA are the masters in our region when it comes to vehicle protection. Paint Protection Film is the best thing you can invest in, in order to maintain the condition of your vehicle. It acts as a protective, translucent layer that blocks the damage that road contaminants can cause. Once you have Paint Protection Film applied, there’s no need to worry any longer about stone chips or sand rash. PPF also protects the paint from UV rays, which can cause fading and discolouration over time that will diminish the quality and appearance of the vehicle - a real bonus in a hot climate such as the UAE.

To have PPF applied, however, your vehicle must be in pristine condition ahead of any application.

PPF is often applied to brand new vehicles - you know the paint is perfect as it’s fresh out the factory and you want to protect it. When a car is new, its paintwork is in tip-top condition and free from damage, and the idea behind PPF is to preserve that finish.

When it comes to used cars, we have to make sure the paintwork is spot on ahead of any application. This involves a number of detailed checks by our team, including scientific paint depth checks by our qualified, in-house technicians. If we determine there is some rectification works to be done ahead of the application then we will consult with you as part of your PPF journey. Applying PPF to a pristine surface will not only improve the vehicle’s look, it will mean that the PPF can fuse to the surface easier, prolonging its life and helping it to do its job more effectively. If your car isn’t new, we have a bodyshop on site to bring it back to new condition before applying Paint Protection Film.

Additionally, PPF is self-healing, which means that minor scratches and swirls will disappear over time as the film reacts to heat from the sun or hot water. Therefore, the paintwork beneath the film is protected from further damage, ensuring that the car looks new for longer but the film will also look perfect and have a swirl-free finish at all times.

A car with pristine paintwork will always be worth more than one with visible damage, so by applying PPF, you are also preserving its resale value. By protecting the paintwork from damage, you are ensuring that the vehicle looks pristine for longer and retains its value over time making it a wise investment in the long run.
