Why we ceramic coat our paint protection film.
Paint Protection Film is a clear film that acts as a transparent layer almost invisible to the naked eye. It is the ultimate in vehicle protection against everyday damage whether the vehicle is on the move or stood still. If stood still, the PPF protects against UV rays and any debris that might be kicked up by passers by or wind, and if on the move the PPF acts as a shield against sand rash, stone chips and any other debris or contaminants such as bugs that your vehicle may come into contact with.
While Paint Protection Film is effective in preventing damage to the paint, it can still be prone to staining and discolouration over time. This is where ceramic coating comes in as a valuable addition to the protection provided by the PPF. Ceramic Coating is essentially a liquid polymer that is applied to the exterior of a vehicle and forms a protective layer that bonds with the surface beneath.
Ceramic coating is hydrophobic, meaning it repels water and other liquids, which helps to prevent the film from getting dirty or discoloured over time. This added element of hydrophobicity also means that the vehicle is kept cleaner for longer and your maintenance washes are even quicker and easier than ever before. With a ceramic coating, contaminants such as dirt, debris and bugs are less likely to stick to the surface of the paint, making it easier to clean and maintain the car's appearance. Additionally, ceramic coating provides an extra layer of protection, ensuring that the PPF lasts longer and performs better.
We use some of the best ceramic coating on the market. Applying a ceramic coating each year is a very cheap way of maintaining the PPF’s protection levels. It also helps to improve the longevity of the PPF product. This added layer of protection helps to save the vehicle from contaminants that can either cause immediate damage or damage over time if sat on the surface of the Paint Protection Film.
The ceramic coating will normally have a life expectancy up to 12 months so you’ll need to reapply or pop back to us for a a one-year maintenance appointment.
